Music Initiatives in LANXESS

Encouraging talented young people in the arts and sciences has been a part of LANXESS' corporate heritage

As part of LANXESS’ global efforts to support youth and music, LANXESS Japan supports three music initiatives in Japan. They are the Saito Kinen Festival Opera for Young People, the Young Euro Classic Ensemble, and the Ozawa International Chamber Music Academy Okushiga, Japan, which received a founding grant from LANXESS in November 2011.

Some 1,400 people turned up to see Lara St. John and the SNYO in classical action at the Esplanade, Singapore on 21 April 2011. The audience was treated to the world premiere of LANXESS' very own signature tune, "Fanfare for a Frazzled Earth" while Lara played a powerful solo in Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35. Guest conductor Alexander Polishchuk from Russia had the audience mesmerized as he guided the symphony through pieces such as Wagner's Overture to "Die Meistersinger Von Nürnberg" and César Franck's "Symphony in D minor".
