Buna EP is a family of ethylene-propylene rubbers which are used for moldings in the construction and automotive industries, hoses, sheeting, seals, low voltage cable insulation, etc.

It is the trade name for ethylene-propylene rubbers. The product range comprises both EPM and EPDM polymers. EPM represents a copolymer from ethylene and propylene monomers, while EPDM denotes a terpolymer based on three monomers: ethylene, propylene and a non-conjugated diene. Both polymers have a completely saturated hydrocarbon main chain, resulting in excellent ozone resistance and very good resistance to heat and oxidation.

BUNA EP rubbers are produced either by suspension polymerization, by which extremely high molecular weights can be achieved, or by solution olymerization, by which truly amorphous grades can be produced. EPDM has the lowest  density (0.86 g/cm³) of all the commercially available rubbers. Compounds based on BUNA EP can be press-cured, extruded, or calendered, and the vulcanizates show very good physical properties.
