LANXESS Singapore

LANXESS in Singapore serves as an important business, technical services and production hub for our operations throughout Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific.

The company’s business operations consist of regional marketing and sales functions for our business units in the Asia-Pacific region. LANXESS also operates three production sites out of Singapore –a biocides facility to serve the burgeoning regional markets, as well as a Nd-BR rubber plant and a butyl rubber plant under ARLANXEO, a 50:50 joint venture in between LANXESS and Saudi Aramco.

By using Singapore as a hub and managing the ASEAN region as a ‘single’ market, LANXESS has been able to create a lean and efficient business model for the Southeast Asia region. This model is further augmented by the establishment of two synthetic rubber production plants to serve the region’s growing markets.

In the ASEAN markets, we have been able to grow our businesses for synthetic rubber products, inorganic pigments, organic leather chemicals, chrome tanning salts, ion exchange resins, reverse osmosis membrane products, antimicrobial active ingredients,  preservatives and disinfectants, for example. These products enjoy good demand in the automotive, food processing, construction and industrial water treatment industries of growth economies, such as Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. With LANXESS’ successful acquisition of the US-based chemical company Chemtura in April of 2017, we will also expand our portfolio in additives, urethanes and organometallics products.

LANXESS is signed up to the Responsible Care® code of conduct under the auspices of the Singapore Chemical Industry Council.
